The first product of my late-night mucking about in Apophysis. I think it turned out pretty well. I would have made the colors more red-ish, but I think I grew a bit too fond of this gradient.
It originated as a quest for a fractal wing, but it morphed into this... This stuff is kindda fun; I think I'll try more in the future! Created in Apophysis 2.02 |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. It was supposed to be a feathered bird... I thought it was going to be a phoenix, but the blue looked better, so...
would an ice leviathan have feather? If you have a better idea of what this thing is, shoot for it. 'course it is art, and open to interpretation. ^_^

Apophysis is a freeware program used to make these "flames" (fractal art). I think the website is a .org... ^_^ Warning: it uses a lot of memory... X_x It took about 10 minutes to fully render this final image.
